Founder & Principal
Maddy founded 2BEngineering in 2021, finding her niche in the construction industry after beginning her career at an MEP consulting firm and a design-build contracting company. Drawn to the versatility and stability of the field, she is passionate about sharing knowledge and empowering others within the HVAC sector. She received her bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Akron in 2016 and is a registered Professional Engineer. Beyond running the business, she enjoys spending time with her two pitties and her family. She also unwinds with long runs and takes on home renovation projects with her better half.

Mechanical Engineer
Claudia joined the 2BEngineering team as a Mechanical Engineer in 2024. Growing up, she was inspired by her grandfather, an Amish man, whose deep love for engineering and steam locomotives sparked her own interest in the field. This led her to pursue a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Akron, which she completed in 2023. With a commitment to learning and a strong foundation in mechanical systems, Claudia continues to evolve as an engineer while staying connected to the values that originally inspired her career path. Outside of work, Claudia enjoys spending time with her two cats, caring for her chickens, and developing her figure skating skills.

Mechanical Engineer
Martin joined the 2BEngineering team in January 2025, bringing with him his design experience that includes schools, libraries, office facilities, as well as industrial chilled water and steam systems. He is always up for a challenge, and that is what drew him to this field. Prior to earning his degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Akron, Martin proudly served in The United States Marine Corp. Outside of work, you can find Martin figure skating or playing for the PuckHawks hockey team.

Mechanical Engineer
Tim has been an integral part of 2BEngineering since its inception in 2021 and brings a liberal arts background to the technical field of engineering. Deciding to make a career change, he completed his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron in 2022. Tim's passion for practical plumbing and piping design stems from being an aquarist, and he now enjoys the challenge of commercial plumbing and HVAC design in both renovations and new construction. Outside of his professional life, Tim is an avid rock climber but mostly enjoys spending time with his family and dog, Murphy.

Office Manager
Courtney came onboard as our Office Coordinator in August 2023, and quickly stepped into an Office Manager role where she has been improving our startup immensely ever since. When she's not in the office, you may find her at the MetroParks spending time with her husband and loving her two special needs long-haired chihuahuas.

Operations Coordinator
Jared was introduced to the building industry as a college co-op and found enjoyment in the variety of projects and cooperation involved in the work. He graduated from the University of Akron in 2017 and has been working as an Electrical Engineer ever since. He has gained experience managing and designing many different types of projects including K-12 schools, higher education, libraries, healthcare, animal care, industrial facilities, and commercial offices. Jared’s system design expertise includes electrical distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage IT and security systems. Jared enjoys being part of a collaborative culture and is excited to bring his knowledge and experience to 2BE. Outside of work you can find Jared working on home renovations, hiking, cooking, and spending time with his two pit bulls.

Mechanical Engineering Intern
Haytham completed his first co-op at 2BEngineering during the 2024 summer (which was also 2BE's first official co-op!) and has returned for spring 2025! During his previous internship, Haytham enjoyed designing 3D models for plumbing and HVAC systems. This time around, he is looking forward to diving deeper into Revit as well as gaining a better understanding of the industry. Haytham is currently pursuing his degree in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Akron, where he plans to graduate in December 2026. Outside of school and work, you can find Haytham enjoying one of his hobbies such as 3D printing, hiking, and weightlifting.
